Telluride 2013-14 winter season kicks off December 18th

Due to tremendous snowfall in the early season producing one of the largest ski bases in the country, Telluride is experiencing a influx of early vacationers. The number of flights landing at the popular nearby Montrose regional airport has jumped from 2 daily flights to 24 starting December 18th.

The excellent snow conditions in Telluride has many people visiting for pre-Christmas skiing and vacation rental companies have experienced a much higher occupancy rate as compared with this time last year.  Telluride ski resort has one of the highest bases in Colorado surpassing popular ski resorts like Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone. Although snowmaking machines are still working around-the-clock to ensure the safety of Telluride skiers throughout the early season, the entire ski resort and all lifts are currently open for skiing.
